The chronology begins this year sans the "Sleep in a Box" event that started everything off last year the night before the first days walk...
...the stage is set for an 8am start tomorrow from the state capitol, walking down Punchbowl toward the ocean. We then turn left onto Ala Moana Blvd, then right onto Kalakaua Avenue through Waikiki. We stay on the makai side of Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head, Kaimuki, Kahala, and Kalani Valley. Finally, just past Wailupe, the first day ends in Aina Haina.
Big changes this year.
No overnight stays in Aina Haina(Day 1),
Waimanalo(Day 2), Nanakuli(Day 8),
or Aiea(Day 9).
Waimanalo(Day 2), Nanakuli(Day 8),
or Aiea(Day 9).
The financial crisis that we all are in is having a challenging affect on non-profits as well. The original mission of "Walk the Talk"......to take the alternative vision of bringing a caring awareness beyond a neighborhood or two to the entire island means......the "talking" that accompanies this 10 day affair has now a more challenging summit to aim for.
...pix and story to follow as this week and the post event moratorium allows...
